An initiative to put South African design on the global map as well as making good design accessible to all. South Africa is making its mark in original design, but it is still only appreciated and shared to a very select market. The aim of Johannesburg Design Week is to take design to a broader audience and ultimately make good design as well as an understanding of design accessible to all.There are many expos in South Africa that aim to to promote design but unfortunately they have only ever targeted a very niche and selected market. We have a very design centric population here in South Africa across all LSM’s, and the future lies in design and manufacture.THIS NEW INITIATIVE WILL RUN ALONGSIDE THE RAND SHOW AND WILL INITIALLY CONSIST OF EDUCATIONAL TALKS AND WORKSHOPS FOR A HOST OF AUDIENCES WHICH INCLUDE:
